SUPPORT MANAGER ? DISABILITY PROJECT

Family Carers Ireland (FCI) is _the _national charity supporting over

the country who dedicate their lives to caring for loved ones such as
children or adults with physical or intellectual disabilities, frail
older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with
chronic illnesses or addiction. We provide a range of supports and
services for family carers nationally from our local support centres.
Family Carers Ireland (FCI) has secured funding to continue work to
support families referred to the organisation directly by HSE
Disability Services. The Support Manager (SM), Disability Project will
continue to develop and implement supports for family of people with
disability, building on a pilot project conducted in summer **Apply on
the website**. As SM, Disability Project you will complete a wellbeing
review with each family carer referred using the Carers Outcome
Star?. Working in collaboration with the family carer, the wellbeing
review provides a holistic assessment of their needs, and develops a
person-centred action plan to enhance 7 areas of wellbeing. Utilising
a ?resolution at first point of contact philosophy? and knowledge
of services and service providers, you will connect the family carer
to partners, external agencies, in-house and on-line supports,
including education programmes, respite and/or counselling.
This role will have a national remit but the successful candidate will
be based in the Limerick, Clare & North Tipperary area.
ROLE CRITERIA: The successful candidate should possess the following
ESSENTIAL criteria.
* A degree (QQI level 7 or higher) in the area of Social Work /
Community Development / Social Care / Psychology / Supported
Employment or healthcare related area;
OR
* A minimum of five years? experience working with families in
similar situations;
* Previous experience providing support to families or carers
relevant to the Disability sector;
* Knowledge of challenges facing carers;
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work within a dynamic environment;
* Experience of working remotely;
* Excellent IT Skills - mainly MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
and experience and confidence using videoconferencing platforms e.g.
Zoom;
* Flexibility in attitude and approach to the job;
* Willingness to do some evening work when required;
* Strong facilitation and presentation skills;
* Project Management skills
* Excellent oral, empathic communication skills and the ability to
establish rapport with a diverse range of people;
* Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, make clear and quick
decisions and work with clients in distress;
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team;
* Full drivers licence with access to own vehicle.
The following is also desirable:
* Experience working with and responding to client?s individual
needs which may include advocacy;
* Experience negotiating with community-based organisations or
groups to maximise outcome for clients
TERMS & CONDITIONS: One-year fixed term contract working **Apply on
the website** hours per week; Monday ? Friday. The successful
candidate may work from their home location but may also be aligned to
an FCI base in their geographic area. In order to work from their home
location, the successful candidate must have a strong broadband
connection and suitable work space. The remuneration for this role
includes an annual salary of ?**Apply on the website**,**Apply on
the website** and access to a defined contribution pension scheme. The
annual leave entitlement for this role working full-time from January
